Uniboil means they only boil meaty hot pots
After seeing This Is Not What I Expected, my wife and I heeded the food movie’s message by having the most scandalous thing a couple can eat for lunch: hot pot.
Under the movie’s influence, Wendy broke a lot of her rules. Ramen played a big part in the movie, so she ordered the thin noodles even though they would be heated for way too long. There was a Wagyu Beef scene, so she got the satay beef, despite the fact that it would be heated too long as well. But guess what? She said it wound up being tasty and the free tea, which tasted a lot like jamaica punch, was a nice counterpoint. A decent lunch special for about 11 bucks.
Me? I skipped the meal because even the tomato base has chicken broth in it and there’s no way I’m going to pay for hot pot with boiled water in it. Can’t really complain, though, because Happy Family Vegetarian Restaurant is right down the street and it’s not like they offer meaty stuff for omnivores.
